Not long after I graduated from college, I took a job that necessitated me moving across the country.
I was thrilled for the chance to begin fresh, experience new scenery & meet new people.
The starting pay for the position was enough to rent a really great apartment in a great, very modern. I have now been renting at this same complex for nearly four years. I keep thinking I should buy my own house in order to gain equity, but I am reluctant to give up the wonderful amenities I have now. My apartment provides a washer & dryer, decent sized balcony, 2 full-sized bathrooms, stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops & zoned temperature control. If there’s any problem with anything, I just complain to the maintenance department & it gets handled quickly. I also have access to a gorgeous swimming pool that is kept clean. I can swim laps for exercise at any time of day or night. I don’t need to invest in a gym membership because I have access to a state-of-the-art fitness center right down the hall. The fitness center is available 24/7 & I most often have the facility completely to myself. I use free weights, kettlebells, dumbbells and resistance bands. There are even battle ropes for strength training. There are multiple stationary bikes, ellipticals & treadmills for cardio training. The gym is constantly adding new equipment & it’s always clean & equipped with towels & water bottles. Access to a fully outfitted gym is really convenient & saves me money. I’ve also met some really wonderful people in the building that I often hang out with. I am unwilling to move out & take on the many tasks & expenses of being a homeowner.
