It always blows our mind when I compare our father’s accomplishments to mine when he was our age.
Granted, back then it was a different era for sure.
But it’s still shocking to see such stark differences in what was possible back then. Every one of us may have great Heating, Ventilation, and A/C, smart phones, laptops, and all that other stuff. However, the chances continue to wither on the vine. My father became a commercial airline pilot and worked for more than 4 decades with the same airline. And he did all of this with a GED degree and a brief stint in the military. She gained aviation mechanics training in the military and then went to toil as an airline mechanic. But, she didn’t come home, and drinking coors with her feet up in the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C. Then, it was on to flight training and into the cockpit with the same airline. She was able to buy a lake condo with central air Heating, Ventilation, and A/C. And she did all of this by the time she was twenty five. Me on the other hand, I’m overeducated and saddled with the debt from getting graduate degrees. The task I hold isn’t even in that field any longer. I’m 28 years outdated at this point, and I am living in our parent’s basement to make ends meet. Thankfully, they are both quite supportive and welcomed me unequivocally. I helped dad finish the basement. Every one of us installed ductless Heating, Ventilation, and A/C so I had some heating & cooling. Of course, I am paying for all of that. It’s the least I could do for such a great landing spot. Hopefully, the economy will start to turn around soon, and I will be able to snag a single 1 of the few chances in our field of study. Until then, I’ll like things great Heating, Ventilation, and A/C.
