I built a custom tool shed 4 years ago with spare lumber from a beach house building project.
My garage was already getting narrow between my wife’s growing pottery studio plus my existing woodtoiling equipment.
I didn’t want my wife to lose any of the space she needed for her art projects, especially since both of us had just recently added air conditioner to the garage. That’s when I realized that I could solve all of our concerns by just building a shed in the backyard. This seemed like an excellent plan until I started dealing with pests. First I had mice in there that took me weeks to clear out with traps before I could find plus fill in all of their holes. Once the mice were gone, the wasps moved in. It started with a single wasp nest, however then it abruptly progressed to many wasp nests in total. One morning I was trying to get my gasoline canister for my lawn mower out from underneath a box when a swarm of wasps attacked me. I was strung 4 odd times before I was able to run out of the shed. That’s when I looked around for a bee removal service. Surprisingly I found a local exterminator who will take bees, wasps, plus red jackets from peoples’ yards plus relocate them to wildlife preserves where they can pollinate plants in nature where they can’t harm anyone. When I found out that the exterminator was going to transport the wasps without killing them, that made me glad. I might dislike them, but I understand how important they are for the environment.
